I have an option of picking up an edge on the cheap side from a friend... i'm planning on getting a JLT cai sometime down the road. does anyone run that combo? I know the JLT requires a tune due to how much more air it adds; and I know the edge allows you to add more fuel, but is there any way to tell how much you need to add other than strapping it to a dyno? I don't wanna run my truck lean
The JLT CANNOT be used with an Edge tuner. Period. I wouldnt even attempt it!! Im not trying to be rude but people need to know this. The JLT requires MAF count adjustments that the EDGE tuner is not capable of, attempting to use a JLT with an Edge will most certainly cause a potentially dangerous lean condition.
BamaChips works hand in hand with JLT, and has MAF count base files available for all F150 trucks that can be adapated to their mail order custom tuning. Check out their products on our site, here:
The JLT uses a much larger MAF housing than any other intake on the market, which is why performs better than any other on the market, and also why it requires custom tuning. I went through 5-6 intakes on our own F150 before settling on the JLT, and others who have changed to the JLT can vouch for the gains as well!
In real world terms, as an honest vendor, I would not be able to market ANY intake to get -SIGNIFICANT- changes in fuel mileage. Some people note increases in fuel efficiency, others a slight drop. Keep in mind the close relationship between fuel efficiency and the distance between your gas pedal and the floorboard

that is exactly why I was asking. Thanks for chiming in... I have a JLT cai on the mach, and i know why they flow more than anything else on the market...
wreed, on the mustang JLTs, you can pretty much fit the stock intake tube inside the JLT intake... they're usually THAT ridiculously big. if the F150 one works as well as the mustang one, it's well worth it IMO... the 600 bucks is a wee hard to swallow at once... even though I've done it for the mustang...
