So out here where I work, we are buying a Ford F-550 to use for deliveries.

It's a '96, apparently has a Cummins in it with a 6 speed Allison transmission. Has a 20' flatbed and a 2200 lb liftgate.

Is it most likely that this truck has a 5.9L Cummins? If it's a 12V that would be cool.

I told them we need to put stacks on it but I don't think they were too crazy about the idea

I dont think they came with a Cummins option till you got to a 650. But in 96 I would say its a 12v with a p-pump.

Apparently somebody is wrong, as I was told it's an F-550. I just looked up some pics of F-550's. I've seen this truck in person and it's definltey a 650 or 750, as it's the "big" bodystyle.

So yes it should have a Cummins.

Its a 12 valve with the inline injection pump. Should be very very reliable
