Not tryin to start crap just IMO my one friend has an 05 150 Which i really like the interior aside from the 1980 style guages. I really dislike the dodge interiors all around. My other friend had an 05 350 v-10. He got rid of it because fuel was to much so he test drove my friends truck and said the only thing he didn't like was the interior so he went and bought an 06 1500 dodge between the two the dodges interior sucks the center dash juts out like an astro van's dog house and his seat is shot already. This isn't a ford dodge bash i don't like the 150's drivetrain and the dodge shifts firmer all i'm sayin is contrary to all this discussion i like the 150 interior better. Just my opinion guys Later

Boy I agree with more here than disagree. What gets me is Ford builds these tough trucks so 90% of them can haul kids to WalMart. I don't know about Walmarts back east but on the west coast you can get into any of there parking lots on a bicycle, you don't need a tough truck. Now a fast truck is different. You need to get to the parking space first.

All we have are dodge 2500 (crew cab, hemi 4x4,sb) at work and yeah they're fast... but don't last. every 3 years the take them out of commission. a few examples below
1. One trucks windshield wipers are possessed. sometimes works sometimes doesn't etc.
2. Ones blinkers doesn't work or gets reversed or works with the brakes
3. ones horn goes off (sometimes) when blinkers go on
4. all of them have had transmission problems (nobody has the brand new one yet)
Now for comparison,
- Our 15 yr old international 18 wheeler is still hard at it
- International delivery trucks are still at it
- 2000 Ford f-550, besides toasting A/C ( i think it's spinning them to fast) is 100%

I don't think any of the newer trucks are up to real work anymore without pretty major failures (especially the diesels of all the brands). The exception for me is the 08 Superduty. That truck just feels solid.

I'll give you that it's pretty rediculous, but should be pretty easy fixes for the most part. Plus none of that minor stuff stops the truck from being useful.
If we want to split hairs, the R front turn signal on the 08 didn't work for a while, but we got it fixed. To be honest, hardly anybody actually pays attention to signals or uses them anymore.
But hey, how rediculous is it that my power locks don't work anymore in my F150? It's not like 2000 was the first year for them.
Plus, your comparison trucks are in a totally different class. Medium and Heavy duty. Up to 1 ton is still light duty, and I'd even put the 450 more in the light duty side compared to most medium duty trucks.

My 76 Pontiac GP was by far the most reliable car I owned. I bought the car when it was 22 years old, had 100K on the odometer and all I had to fix on it was a blown brake line in the 2 years of daily driving which I used it.
My Dodge wasn't quite as good, but is till my favorite car which I own.
