np205 wanted

anyone know where to get a reasonably priced divorced np 205 for a 76 in KS or shipped to KS?

I really dont think you're going to be able to get one shipped to you for cheap, they weigh about 150 pounds. I'd start searching every junkyard around you, you should be able to find one there for about 50-200 bucks.

NP205 question

What's the story on these transfer cases? I just picked up a 77 F250 4x4 with an NP205 in it (well, in the bed). The PO told me he had a guy come out and offer him $1000 just for the transfer and was willing to part the rest of the truck just to get it. He didn't tell me that until after I had already made the purchase so I hesitate to think that he was trying to seal the deal. I've been into 66-77 Broncos for the last decade so I really am not familiar with why this transfer would be so desirable to this guy.

They're next to bullet proof....In lightduty pickup truck land theyre pretty much like the bently of transfer cases. There are other strong ones, but none as strong as this one.

I know there are alot of NP203/205 doubler conversions going on out in rock crawler world, but I imagine the guy could have gotten one a helluva lot cheaper from a U-Pull-It.
