Is this normal after TTM install?

I installed a ISSPRO TTM on my truck a few days ago. My question, is it normal for my truck to keep running for 5 minutes after I turn my key off ( this is at operating temp). This happens everytime. My install was red and black, white and yellow to ign. switch, yellow for power, and a ground. What did i do wrong?

If a TTM is a turbo timer then I'd say it was perfectly normal since it's allowing your truck to cool down at idle. I think the time should be adjustable for shorter and longer cool down's.

partsman Its not timed, it goes by temperature. I just unhooked the red and black wire and it still takes 5 min. Thanks

a turbo timer can go by time or temp....most of them can anyway...

Check all of your wiring since it appears you used the same color for more than one connection. Do the red & black wires go to the thermocouple? If they do then unhooking them is not going to allow the TTM to get a proper temp signal so it will run until it gets a proper temp to shut off. Where did you install the thermocouple? Did you adjust the low temp shut off point?

Here is a link to the instructions, what wire go to what terminals on the TTM box?

the black and red wire is a ignition wire and i unhooked it. I spliced into the ignition switch (it's white) right under the steering column, next to the fuse box. yellow- power, whiteand yellow- ignition, ground. Thermocouple is about 5 or 6 inches away from the turbo. Wire hook up for thermocouple red ground, yellow postive

So if i understand you correctly you have 6 Wires hooked up to the TTM.

Black/Red wire to ignition switch
Yellow to +12V power
White/Yellow to ignition (where on ignition?)
Ground wire
Red to -Thermocouple
Yellow to + Thermocouple

If you look closely at the wiring diagram in your instructions you need 5-wire connections total.

Terminal 1 (IGN SW)on the TTM goes directly to cold side (no voltage when tested to ground, when key in off positon) of ignition switch wire leading to starter relay trigger.

Terminal 2 (Batt +) on the TTM goes directly from the battery side of the ignition switch (this wire will have battery power when tested to ground even with the ignition switch in the off postion)

Terminal 3 (Lamp) Leave this one blank, it is for an optional inicator lamp

Terminal 4 (GND) on TTM to any good ground point on chassis.

Terminal 5 (T/C -) Red Thermocouple wire

Terminal 6 (T/C+) Yellow Thermocouple wire
