Cetane Booster

all you guys just make the snake oil guys rich. this stuff does nothing at all. " i used it for 100,000 miles, no problems"???what does that mean? my 98 7-3 went that many mies with no problems and i used off road diesel from the farm most of the time. additive? i spent enought on fuel in my life without adding insult to injury. 900.000 miles, 800,000 miles, 1,400,000 miles, 400,000 miles,,that is the miles i put on my big trucks with n additives ad very little problems, not any that any additive would have stopped. God knows how many miles in cars, ikes , boats and airplanes. the onuy thing i ever used that had real results s synthetic oil, lubes and grease.

Here is something to think about... I added Amsoil Cetane Booster and Diesel Concentrate before I towed my trailer on a short trip (400 miles). My radiator blew on that trip and while I was waiting on the side of the road for the tow truck, I walked around the truck checking things out. I noticed that my tail pipe was black! I have never noticed any kind of smoke come out of my tail pipe. After I picked up my truck from the dealer and burned that tank of fuel I have not put any additives back in and I cleaned the tail pipe with a wire brush. My tail pipe is still clean and I have put 1000 miles on it since using the Amsoil products. I did not notice any gains in mileage or decrease in engine noise, but just before the radiator blew, I thought to myself, “man this thing is running good”. Coincidence or conspiracy?

Get the WHITE Diesel Service bottle, its the "ULSD ok" labeled one. The grey one just lacks the label saying ULSD. My Wal Mart carries both, but Tractor Supply is 6 bucks cheaper a gallon.
Mikey, your radiator can blow for lots of different things. With how big the one is on your '08 F-450, it's suprising that your engine could ever overheat. And if that was the only time you had towed, the 'black' is just from actually working the engine. 1k miles is zilch to an unloaded diesel. Every vehicle I've ever driven had an exhaust pipe with crap on it, it just happens. If I recall.... the '08 had a fun problem of the exhaust puking Fire there when they were first released. So don't blame the additive for messing up the engine quite yet.
Personlly, I can pull 19-21 mpg on the highway using PS. Wihtout it, I pulled maybe 16-17mpg. And before you say that my driving habits changed, I made four identical runs from Lubbock to Denver at 1200 miles a trip to figure this out. So whatever you decide, it works for me and that's all that I care about. 3mpg over 5k miles is a lot.

FYI, "gallon bottles" have been mentioned twice in this thread. Note that they are not gallons, but 3 quarts. Keep that in mind when comparing quart bottles vs the big bottles.
If I was a conspiracy theory nut I would think Powerservice was trying to pull a fast one on us. But I'm not a conspiracy theory nut, so I don't think that. Really, I don't!

Gallon-ish. It treats 300 gallons compared to 100, so as long as it's less than three times the cost of the 100 gallon bottle, you're not getting screwed. The tiny bottles are a ripoff ,they treat about 50? gallons, but cost as much as the 100 gallon bottle.
Mind you even the gallons treated is relative. It's the lowest ratio mentioned on the back.
