has it been done??

so i was looking at my 49 f4 and to me the distance from the grill to the back of the front fenders seams a little too long. so my question is has anyone shortened this distance, like taken a few inches out of the middle and if so are there any pics ???

That would require a LOT of VERY complex work, so I'd suggest photochopping some pictures and look at them for a while before deciding if it would be worth the effort (and seriously major expense, I'm assuming that you are not a highly skilled custom body man).

It would definately take quite a bit of work. I'm with AX, I'd start out with doing some work on the computer before taking a sawzall to the truck.

Cut some pics up and lets have a look, it could be interesting

Definately looks like it's worth the effort to me!! I know it's alot of work, but if it were easy it wouldn't be worth it!

Hey Kusto, can you do some photochop to my truck? I liked what Kooper done to his truck making it look like it was from Cars the movie. A buddy of mine did a little, but it wasn't with a good picture? Just curious, if you would like something to practice on, I'd really appreciate it. Also on a side note, I'm goin to "center my front AND rear wheels in my wheel openings on my truck when I make my new frame? Can you center them in a pic for me too. Pretty please?? With chocolate chip cookies on top?

Thanks anyway if you do or dont'

I LOVE this place!

I'm just getting started with photo chopping but I'd be willing to give it a try put a good clean side shot of your truck in your gallery and I'll see what I can do.

Hey Kusto, I'll try to get one up soon. I looked at the WRONG pic on that you posted. I actually like the way it was instead of shortened? My thing I was lookin at was the wheel opening. I like that radius around the tire. I thought the one on the right was the before. DUH boy do I feel stupid. I like it left alone. Wrong again I guess. Anyway I'll try to get a good side shot for that pic

Thanks again!

IMHO, if you shorten the bed and front, it makes the cab too high. It will need a chop too!

Lika diss....

Would require serious sectioning of the cab and front fenders. the bed would be a piece of cake.
