Heater-Find

I started on the heater today. I removed the big hose from the wall. Next I turned the switch to check air flow only to find I have high speed only. The fan turns off at low.

I pulled the fan motor to find that the hot air is coming from the cab already and not through that big hose. The air flow from the big hose goes through the heater core and is directed out towards the firewall. The fan is open in the back and picks up this heated air and pulls it into the center of the fan and out towards the ducts in front of the up or down flap.

My truck is loud enough inside and my hearing poor enough that i didn't know there was no fan on low.

So now it appears, I will reconnect the big hose, try to find why I don't have fan low and go from there.

Is there a rheostat or something controlling the fan motor speeds. This is a very put together truck so there is no telling what it what.

BTW It is not the deluxe fan with the extra controls.

On top of the case will be a two prong resistor wire facing to the air stream.

That cuts the voltage for low speed.

If its broken it will not work.

If you need i have a spare.
