My last name looks like sausage. so when I got to my first military base, my sup. looked at me looked at my name tag. and called me Jimmy Dean. It has stuck....by a weird chance....I already used the initials JD online for various reasons...also the initials of my fav. drink.
I requested this past weekend to join the LA chapter but have not heard anything yet, can't wait! But I would like to give the reason why I picked my screen name. "5150 MAN", "5150" is the Calf. police code for the "Criminally Insane". Also this meaning has a lot to do with the rock group Van Halen, name of Eddie's recording stuido, and a name of one of their albums. But back to my screen name. I have always done crazy and stupid things to push the limit of not getting caught, some good and some bad. But I always wanted to have a good time. The same with all of my trucks I have ever owned. From the low rider days of the late '80's to Diesel Proformance of the 21st centry. I just love have a truck that looks and runs great. A lot of times my friends usually tell me I am crazy for doing that to a truck, and in the next breath thay say I like it.
In Slidell the same code is 103-M, I found this out from a friend of mine a few years ago when he wanted to know what 5150 meant. So other towns and parishes should have something close. Hope to here from y'all soon.

Walrus, I saw on another Tread you are from the Slidell area. I have been living there for the last 17 years, grew up in Pearl River. But do not tell anybody! Let me know if you have time and like to meet up and talk truck stuff over a cold one.
Thanks again Robert(rbloodhound) for taking care of getting me signed up.
I don't know quite how to explain ALL of it - but on my first day/night on the net "Greywolf" suited me right to the core. I think that was 1998 or 1999.
I was on active duty in the US NAVY, on all those grey boats and ships.
Also I was a "Slickeroo..." If there was a way to do things unofficially I FOUND IT! I considered it keeping the great ways of our navy traditions alive, I'm sure Rick Marcinko would have approved.
I settled in the south by preferance, I like it here....
But in many ways (contrary to what may be thought of me) I have always been a loner. I love sports like body building, cycling, mechanicking, and so on - where I am by myself and doing things in my own way and in my own good time. A lot of that is from being brought up in a disfunctional family.
Still, there is FUN in dysFUNction....
I learned from who I could, outran those who could not catch me, and took my revenge discretely.
I have never liked fighting - it's what you do when nothing else works. But I never liked losing either, so I avoid both if I can.
All of the a$$whoopin's taught me the truth about fighting. You just don't do that for fun - sooner or later someone takes it serious!
And so a "WOLF" I am. Old and Grey, but still true to my creed
Hey Grey Wolf,
Pretty good story!, glad you are tuning into what us coon ***'s are talking about. I hate to say I thought I was the only one that came from a dysFunction family.... and I must say I am always trying to break some kind of rule, OPPS did I say that! But I think the only problem you have is that you did not move far enough "SOUTH"... but good intentions. Hope you have a good evening. Oh by the way do you "suck the heads and pinch the tails"?
When I was 14, I made my first e-mail account. My Dad's Super Comp number is 4652, and I used my name. (his, too...I'm a Jr.) Since then, the S/N has stuck. I use it on everything except for Ebay.
