At one point someone disconnected the heater contol on my truck, from the looks of it they did it for a reason...what kinda stuff should I check (and how do i check it) on the heater to make sur everything's a-ok before i turn it on? Also, anyone know of a good place to find the heater ducts that go to the vents on the top of the dash?
There is only two cables, so shouldn't be hard to get back together. Heat/cold cable went to heater control valve out under hood that is inline with heater hose. The other cable controlled Heat or Defrost door.
If someone unhooked the water lines, then likely the heatercore is junk/leaks. Pretty simple replacement job, as there are only like 10 screws holding box together. Take off cover, pull out core, put new core in and put cover back on.
Not sure, but I would bet the hoses for defrost are available aftermarket thru any of the resto catalogs. If not, I'm sure someone here might have a set available(check the classifieds, or post a want ad).
