99' super duty steering box??
Hey fella's gotta question maybe one of you guys ran into before. My uncle's got a 99 super suty with toyo 285's on it. He says the steering has gotten progressively worse. he said it throws you left or right really fast when you turn the wheel slightly. I took it for a drive last night and i did feel what he said, it doesn't matter how fast your going. The free play is perfect and to turn the wheel it's effortless. I checked the whole front end and everything was perfect, i greased the tie rod ends and made sure everything was tight. The only thing i could come up with is the poppets are worn in the box and maybe a new box would cure this. My father also has a 99 with 33's and is starting to complain about the same thing. If any one knows any thing about this i would really appreciate some info so i know where to go with this.. Thanks guys!!
