Me again! We're still trying to get the brake lights going, and I guess we're going to have to do the multi-function switch. Hubby got son one of those big books @ the auto parts store, and they got one of those light tester thingies, and he's checked all down the truck and the power to the back lights seems to be ok. Problem with the multi-function switch, it says you have to remove the steering wheel to replace it, and that you need a special tool to remove the steering wheel. Is there a different way to do this, a way around removing the steering wheel, or where do I get one of these steering wheel remover tools? So far I guess we're not doing too awful bad since everyone who was supposed to come help us out never showed!
The wheel will need to come off. The 93 has no airbag so at least you're safe there.
You can buy (or rent) a wheel puller at the parts store. They aren't expensive.
Replacing the switch is fairly easy if you take your time and pay attention. However, the switch is only available as a complete assembly. Because it contains the turn signal and wiper controls, it's not cheap. 80 bucks at NPD.
Well, after working on these STUPID lights for TWO weeks, we got them all working! My son looked at the stupid diagram for the fuses and found that there was one we didn't see because it's hiding way up inside where you can't see if by just looking at the fuse panel. When I checked them, I just pulled out each fuse I saw and looked at them, but I didn't see this fuse. UGH! I feel so silly! Thanks again to everyone who helped!
