Rough Idle

I have a 2004 Explorer (6 cyl. flex fuel w/ 52K miles) that is idleing very rough. Took it to Autozone to pull codes and P0303(misfire cyl #3) and P0316(Engine Misfire Detected on Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)) codes came back. I replaced the 3rd cylinder spark plug, but that did not help. I pulled the #3 plug wire while the engine was running to see if there was spark. I could feel the spark coming through the insualtor....is that normal or should the wires be replaced? Seems like you shouldn't get shocked while holding the insulating boot. Any ideas where to look next?
Thanks

I had the same codes for my wife's 2002 Taurus 3.0L Duratec 122k. Replaced all plugs, still ran bad, still had codes. Her wires looked good. Replaced the coilpack and all is well. Coilpack was 80.00, if wires are cheaper I might do them first. I got lucky by guessing coilpack.

Switch the wire with another one, and see if the code moves to a different cylinder. If it does, replace the wires. If it still comes up on #3, consider replacing the coil.

Ahhaaa....I was looking at the wrong cylinder(duh!). I found part of the wire chaffed where it touches another braded hose. Bought a new set of OEM plugs and wires today so we'll see what happens. Thanks for the responses...I'll let you know what happens.
