Hey all. I have been a long time reader but never posted due to the fact that I have a 2000 F150 XLT with the 4.2 and only the 2x4. I seen a lot of bashing going on around here about that truck such as, not enough power and being slow and all. So I never posted.
I just purchased a 2007 F-150 with the 5.4 Triton v8. 4X4 and I tell you, I had nothing to post about until now. This truck is awesome. Lots of power. My poor 4.2 is gonna sit in the driveway and never be driven again. IM thinking about selling it.
My questions are, is the Triton v8 a good truck? It is all stock. What upgrades are available? I need it to be louder. This is by far the best toy I have ever bought. I love it. I want to spend some money on it. It's like a new girlfriend and I want it to be treated right. I want it to have everything. DO all ford truck owners feel this way?
Good purchase. I was reading in consumer reports about how the fords reliability ratings have really gone up. I am glad since I have a 2007 F150. Get some pics up ASAP.
so you want to spend more money.... thats WAAAYYYYY too easy !!! exhaust, programmer, lift/leveling kit, tires, wheels, remote starter.... that should get you started !!!
congrats on the new truck !! i see your from upstate...i grew up near albany... havent been there in several years, but i do miss it!!
bobskido the first thing you have to remember you are driving a truck not a mustang...for a truck the F-150s are fast yes but its still a truck that weighs about 5000lbs...but im sure that K&N is slowing you down...for the F150s the best Cold Air Intake is Volant makes the trition scream.
I Know its a truck but I like to know if Im up against a truck, I can win, or at least hold my own. I know it is not a mustang because I own one of them too. Why is K&N slow? I have one in my stang too and have not have any problems.
its not that K&N is a problem its that Volant allows alot more air to flow in and with volants closed in box it doesnt suck up hot air from the engine...it gets cold air from in front of the truck...i blew a duramax diesel away with my F150 and its stock
Oh I get it now. But K&N is still better than stock but the Volant is better than K&N. How much horsepower is the Volant offering above stock? Cause K&N is offering 35 more horsepower. IM not saying K&N is better, IM just saying I need to hear more voices before I change. Like I said I have have very good results using K&N and dont want to spend money on a dead beat product.
