wait to start

does the new 6.4 have the wait to satrt light.. i have an old 7.3 and you have to wait to sart it, just wanted to know if you still have to do this on the new ones

Yeah most likely you do its a diesel wait till you hear the glow pugs are kicked in

There is a glow plug light that comes on that tells you if you have to wait to start it or not. When the glow plug light goes out, you can start it.

I have never had the glow plug light in the instrument cluster stay on for more then 1-2 seconds (I live in Florida though).

yes but the job 2's have the one touch start system. which enables the driver to turn the key and the truck takes over. which is a neat system. because it's idiot proof. thats why noone drives my 95' think they can just get in and crank like its a gasser.

If you look in your owners manual it will show you what the glow plug light looks like.
when you turn the key on it should go out in 1-2 seconds in mild weather, I don't know about cold weather yet.
