I need some advice, I just got my '02 F 350 and I've been reading this forum for quite some time researching. Pics here; https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...and-03s-4.html
Now that I have my truck, I would like to know where my $$ would be best spent first.
I already have a 6637 on it's way, I will do the CCV at the same time, My question applies to after these mods.
I can't help but think that gages would be the smart thing to do next, just so I can monitor anything I do afterwards?
Are there anymore cheap mods I need to do before going to the tuner and axhaust? I'm pretty well sold on the DP tuner and not sure which exhaust yet though. Also, which should I do first, exhaust or tuner?

Exhaust will all depend on what you want to hear, you can see on my sig, i did nothing more then a muffler, others run up to 5" pipes. So, me, first would be the gages, then everything elese. just to watch your base line change as you go...
gauges is a must have..then air intake and exhaust..from there it all depends on where you want to be..you can do a DP then fuel..or you can do fuel, turbo, injectors then the DP....

Do I really need a gage for tranny since the truck already has that? I was thinking about a 2 pod or a 3 pod with something else in teh third.
What do you mean fuel? What is that mod?
i would get a temp gauge..the stock one reads in the red when it is too late..when you put a gauge in you will see what i mean when you compare the two....most of us do the intank mod..it moves the return fuel away from the pick up tube inside the tank..that way you get all fuel and no air..it will make your injectors a lot quiter...

Turtle, my theory in mods was to start with the nuts and bolts first and see what kind of differences I could make without spending a ton of money. While gauges are a necessity and I have them now I started with the fuel delivery. By far the Hutch and Harpoon mods have made the biggest difference in the quietness of the injectors and idle smoothness. It was a night and day difference for very little money. ITP has a good kit with a nice custom filter bracket. Next I took care of the dead end fuel rails with the kit from http://www.dinofuelalternatives.com/products.php?cat=17
That also made a huge difference in injector noise reduction and at the same time you can add a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel bowl and shim your fuel pressure regulator to bring up the fuel pressure if you need to.
Next I changed over to synthetic oil. My truck is very happy.
I've done a number of other things, Crankcase vent trap, coolant filter, 6637 and gauges in order to get ready for a chip, but I wanted to make sure these other things were taken care of first. I have two other guys in my neighborhood with 2002's and by far mine is the quietest, smoothest running of the three.
