Axle seal?
I thgouht I had a post about changing a axle seal, but I couldn't find it through search.
How bad a job is it, any specail tools I need?
Figure brakes and 4x4 hub, hows' the seal go on once I get the shaft out?
I never done one before, drivers side been dribbling since last year, has gotten worse.
Thanks,
Blair

Depending on the axle you have, mine on my F350 with the solid axle the seals are in the diff. So I just add fluid every once in a while untill I get a chance to chage them. Mechanic told me that you have to take the gears out to get to them.

Got a D60 up front. Just realized the truck wasn't in my first post, it's in my sig line, but for the sake of it,
96' F350 XL 4x4.
Thanks

I take it you are talking about the Front axle then.
"Mechanic told me that you have to take the gears out to get to them."
Yes you do.

Sounds like I'm adding fluid then.
Don't have the experience or cash to do it right now.
