95 E-150 No Spark
There was no spark between the coil and the distributor so I replaced the coil and I still don't have spark. I tested the wiring and there appears to be power (12v) to the coil. Any ideas?
If so you have bad wiring (short to ground) from SPOUT to PCM Computer or Bad PCM Computer.
If no spark then it would be bad Ignition Wiring, ICM or PIP sensor.
Your ICM should be a Black one, if you replace it do NOT buy a GRAY one or let anybody put a Gray one in.
If it is the PIP sensor then the easiest way is to replace the distributor itself as it comes with one inside.
PIP - Profile Ignition Pickup
ICM - Ignition Control Module
PCM - Powertrain Control Module
SPOUT - Spark Output Signal from EEC
I've found out the hard way that these complex interconnected systems often hide faults & that throwing components at it logically can be a wild goose chase. I replaced the suspect ICM, PIP & PCM seeking to solve an intermittent violent stammering. Note that I replaced the PIP at a small fraction of the price of buying a new distributor. The local expert FORD mechanic labeled it "Blue Oval Disease", the Stealership mechanic advised that often, even with their resources, what seems to be ignition, winds up being fuel issues! The Fault Code Reader ended up having to be used like a Chinese Fire Drill-jump out & plug it in WHEN the 302 acted up-at which time it showed the TPS at fault!
Very often the computer already knows what's wrong & has the answer stored for you. If I were you, 1st I'd 'ask' your '95 Econoline itself what it 'thinks' is wrong, before seeking opinions remotely.
Also, leaving a vehicle parked for extended time in subtropical FL is a recipe for moisture, bugs and/or rodents to do their mischief. Up north I once had a mouse chew through the wire that energized the alternator, a hard to find fault that stumped several veteran mechanics.
