I have Odyssey's in my race cars and was thinking about putting them in my 04 when they gave out. I'm hoping the volt meter will give ma a clue before they go, My wifes Honda lasted 7 years. Not a clue just died; guess I kinda pushed it. Next month is 4 years on the truck.................Good luck

If you consider the red top optimas, I would reconsider as mine died in one year. The regional manager replaced mine with yellow tops. In general the red tops have higher than required CC/CCA than you need with far less reserve. The yellow tops has more than required CC/CCA and appropriate reserve that is important in PSD's.

Apparenty the real difference between the red top and yellows is that there is more of and thinner plates in the red tops to create the surface area for higher CC/CCA but what it sacrifices to the yellow top is reserve. The drawback is that the thinner plates break down easier particulalry in off-road conditions that existed for me (vibration).

The regional manger indicated people get caught up in buying the highest CC/CCA battery thinking they are getting the best but in actuality buying adequate CC/CCA with lots of reserve is far more important for diesel applications. Oh yes change both batteries at the same time.

For the money Interstates are very good and from what I here odysees (no experience with them) appear to be too but if you have the cash; yellow tops have been superior based on my experience.

Wow, I called Odyssey directly and they quoted me $271 per battery. I went with the Optima's yellow tops for $120/ea.

Replaced mine about 3 weeks ago. Got a pair of 850's from Advanced Auto. Big difference in the way it starts. How long will they last? Don't know? Paid $189 for them including tax, but my company pays for them so they cost me nothing.

Just replaced my stock batteries got 4 1/2 years out out em. I opted for the Kirkland batteries from Costco 900 CCA 3 year replacement and a 100 month total warranty. There made by Johnson Control same guys who manufacture the Motorcraft battery. They were also the best priced batteries.
