high dollar kitty
Interesting experiment for cross breeding animals when mixing a leopard with a domestic cat but, are they playing with fire here ?

leopard or leopard cat?
There is a smaller wild feline in asia called the leopard cat :

This animal has successfully been crosssbred with domestic cats since the 60s, producing (after 4 generations) the Bengal cat breed, which seems quite sociable.
One of the printed sources I saw (nope, can't find it now
) referred to this present $25k critter as being produced by crossbreeding with leopard cats, where most of the news video clips talk about breeding cats with leopards (Poor Kitty! 
)
I was therefore somewhat comforted to find out about the existance of leopard cats and submit for your consideration that this is a more plausible explanation of Kitty's ancestry which has possibly beeen sensationalized.
Still agree there's a lot of nice (and way cheaper) cats out there
