i know this has been discussed over and over again but can you guys get me links on it please.
I am going to be getting a 2007 outlaw lariat 6.0 and want to do mods. i am going to eventually get the tuner sct from matt. i want a 4" exhaust mbrp. should i get ss or aluminum and get the high temp. paint for the alum?? guages and stuff. were can i find these things to buy at a good price?? also what else should i do??
As far as the exhaust you have the right company. I personally think it depends on your tastes and where you live on the ss vs aluminum. If you are close to the shore then ss would probably be your best bet, but you couls coat an aluminum system with something so it basically boils down to what you want to see when you look under your truck. Why pay more for something you aint gonna see 95% of the time. I went with xtreme diesel with my exhaust and bought my guages at a place in my town. If you are planning on getting crazy with the tunes you might want to look into some ARP head studs. Just a thought
You're gonna need the SS exhaust for the simple reason the EGT are gonna be higher when running the SCT and aluminum can only take so much abuse. The SS can handle the higher temps your gonna see with adding the SCT. 409 or 309 is your choice and depends on your budget but i would not waste the money on the aluminum.

Not really, the tunes that people get for just the usual 3 mods and don't have headstuds, your not going to see anything that an aluminum can't handle temp wise unless you go over the temps that everyone recommends you try to stay below or hit for a few moments. Now if you go beyond the usual 3 mods and go with injectors, bigger turbo or any of the other stuff in any combination or single modification of one then you will be running tunes that very easily get hotter then the ones for the usual 3 mods. However, as hot as those other tunes get, I would be more worried about other components getting abused besides the exhaust at that point.
I live in NY alot of salt here. I have the MBRP in 409 ss and a cat delete pipe in aluminized steel. After 1 year the only thing not rusty is the cat delete pipe in aluminized steel. I will see how it looks after another winter but so far the aluminized steel is looking pretty good.
They are different grades of stainless steel. MBRP uses two types of SS, 409 and 304.
304SS is the highest grade used in exhaust systems, it is an "Austenitic" SS, and contains both Nickel and Chromium, is non-magnetic and is highly resistant to discoloration. 304 SS is the most common grade of SS. Austenitic SS has a very high corrosion resistance. The most common 304SS is S30400 CrNi18-8 (18/8) or 18% Chromium & 8% Nickel (also 18/10). It is used to make, utensils, kitchen sinks, truck trailers,
409SS is a lower grade of SS, and is commonly used in exhuast systems, automotive trim, water heaters. It is a "Ferritic" SS and contains very little nickel, is magnetic and will dis-color much more readily than 304SS. 409SS is the most common SS used for exhaust systems, S40900 CrTi12, 11% Chromium & 0.4% Titanium, it contains the lowest chromium content of any SS. 409SS is used by most automotive manufactures for exhaust systems, catalytic converters etc.
As far as choosing between 304SS & 409SS exhaust systems, it is all about looks, as both are very corrosion resistant and will last the life of the vehicle. The 409SS will discolor and get a dull finish fairly quickly unlike 304SS. Both the 304SS & 409SS have a lifetime warranty from MBRP. The cost of 304SS exhaust is much higher than a 409SS exhaust.
Aluminized Steel is just cold rold steel that has been hot-dip coated with Aluminum-Silicone alloy for corrosion resistance. Aluminized steel will not dis-color like 409SS and will maintain its strength up to 1250F. It has also been used for years in automotive exhaust systems. MBRP warranties their Aluminized Steel systems for 3-years.

What in the world do you put down on the dyno 6L PWR?
Was just over 600HP, now, not so much.
FYI- Don't run over 1300 EGT's much. Pistons tend to get brittle. Add Boost, LOTS of fuel, NOS and Water/Meth, makes for a big oil spot to clean up!! Like 3 gallon oil spot to be precise.
