brake booster dimensions

Had a '75 F250 2wd front disc power brakes, and a '73 F250 4wd Hiboy drum brakes on all 4 no pwr booster. Bought a reman booster for the "73 and noticed it was smaller in dimension (dia mostly)than the '75. Is the difference in the year or the brake config?

I now have a '74 F100 2wd front disc and need to replace the booster I would prefer the smaller one if the effects are tolerable.

Anybody else seen or try this?

Seen, never tried.

Which booster does the truck have on it now?

Since autoparts stores sell rebuilt booster/master combinations, you might end up with any of the above...or >>>

>>> There are dozens of boosters and master cylinders for different applications!

*Master Cylinder p/n: D3TZ-2140-B

Yes, I am presntly dismantling a 75 F250 and noticed the booster is smaller in diameter.

You can get all the booster info you want on my photobucket site automotive related album.

Let's start here.

F250 application 2510468

and 2511083

Now the Cross reference booster to FTE number on booster rod.

2510468 = FT-17

2511083 = FT-26

Its definatley one of the 11's but cant say wich without removing the master cylinder. This info will certianly help in locatingthe one I want. I was curious to know if this would change braking and the way the petal feels and in what way.

Dual diaphram should increase braking with less effort.

One of the 11's.....?

That doesn't mean the smaller one can't be swapped in if you also have the pedal assembly.

I would need a pic of the larger booster mounting configuration
