engine missing going up hill
I have a 2005 diesal with 98,000 miles and am starting to notice that when I'm going up a hill the engine "misses" or "jerks" unless I press the accelerator forcing it to downshift. Once it downshifts I get a huge cloud of black smoke but then the missing stops. Somebody in the forum once mentioned that the PCV valve was bad. Any ideas? Thanks

my 04 with 41k does the same, starts acting like it is missing and I can hear an air noise that sounds like the turbo kinda going on and off, but if i give it enough throttle to down shift or floor it , it runs fine..????????

You're still under the 100k drivetrain warranty, aren't you?
