2007 weird sound
Under normal driving conditions I've experienced a loud grinding sound from under the truck. It sounds kinda electrical, like something is trying to engage or something. It only lasts about 6-7 seconds then its gone. This has happened twice.
Can anyone shed some light as to what is making this sound?

does it sound like it is coming from the front? do you have a 4x4? try a search for "iwe" and see if your symptoms match some of those posts.... in fact, i have to look at mine this afternoon. with an 07, it sounds kinda soon, but your not alone. you can also try to put it in 4wd and back to 2wd and see if the noise goes away. this will tell you if you have an issue with the iwe solenoid.

If you have electronic 4wd flip the switch to 4hi when you hear it. If it stops I would have the hubs checked. I know you said it seemd to be coming from under the truck but this was my experience. Worth a try anyway.
