I'm looking for Regional help!

Guys,

I want to talk to each of you about the West Virginia Chapter of the FTE. I've been the Chapter Lead (CL) since August of this year. In some Chapters, the CL is a rotating postition changing once a year, in others, the CL is changed when the CL asks for a replacement. I'd like to get your views on this.

As some of you know, I've talked about trying to break the state up into several regions so that we can facilitate regional or local GTGs (get togethers).

Because I'm in the south east, I think we need to break the state into several regions. I'm thinking of:
Martinsburg
Clarksburg/Fairmont
Parkersburg
Charleston
Huntington
Beckley/Lewisburg/Princeton - I'd take this region.

I'm looking for a couple of things. First, I need agreement on the regions. Next, I need a volunteer from each of the regions we agree on to lead in that particular area and to coordinate with me. My plan is to coordinate with each regional lead to attend as many of their planned events as I can.

I'm just one guy in one part of the state. I'd like to coordinate with and support each of the Regional Leads but I need somebody to step up to the plate and try to set up a meet in their region a couple of times per year.

Once a year, I want to have a statewide meet. Last year it was the 1st Annual WV FTE Ford Truck Show in Pipestem. Those attendees (there were 12 trucks/owners at that show) agreed that they wanted to try a second show again at Pipestem because of the facility. That show is planned for the 3rd weekend in August 2008. The first week of August 2008 the FTE WV Chapter is planning to attend the 2008 All Truck Nationals in Carlisle PA. If you are interested in attending, contact me! I am going.

We want to be a fun and active chapter...but we need to do this together.

I want to hear ideas for get-togethers, area/regional meets, fun things to do - participate in, etc!

I'm waiting to hear from each of you!

Regards,

Joe

Now this looks like an active thread.

Clarksburg to Morgantown, North Central WV should be one region.
In fact down to Weston would cover the northern 60 miles of I 79.
Grafton and Kingwood would fit in there easily as well.

From the looks of fuel price forcasts, meetings are going to be hard and getting harder to have.

Good point on the fuel costs Dave.

I'm thinking that if we can set up a "local" meet somewhere for a lunch....some Saturday everybody who's interested would meet at zzz at noonish. Most folks would do a lunch thing and we make it a get together to meet and greet at the same time.

What to the rest of you guys think? C'mon, don't be shy!

Like any of you mugs would be shy!

I have not seen any of the northern guys on recently.

I remember someone mentioned meeting at Polky Dots in Fairmont, but never saw a time or date.

And there is a guy from Morgantown that has started posting in the IDI forum.

Now I just need to remember his handle, it starts with G.

i wondered about that too -- how many of us are there and how many ever come in here anyway -- i see we get a few new guys and then they don't post -- if you broke it down in regions the amount of people in each region would be fairly small i would think

Well it think me dave and outlaw make up the north central part. I can keep a lookout for shows we can hit up and try to make members at. Im up for what ever but as dave said the fuel costs are a killer and i cant afford to drive the big truck very far.(if i ever get it done)

Mech2161 and ghunt are both from Morgantown.
Mech2161 has posted here before.
ghunt I sent a PM to to see if he would stop in.
And I think there may be another user in the Morgantown area that has posted here before as well, I just can't remember who right now.

I am game for a ride to Fairmont for lunch at DJ's diner right off the Kingmont Road exit beside the airport most any weekend.
I really like the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatos and gravy there.

I seem to remember someone from Bridgeport posting in the past as well.

I seem to remember someone else from over that way, but not anything recently.

If I had to meet with you I think Deep Creek lake would be about half way for each of us.

Shall we ski at Wisp this winter?

I am not to good on tubes, no steering, no brakes.
I am to old to run into trees, it takes to long to get better.
Bones heal slowly.
