Are the 302 explorer cams worth the swap, if GT-40 heads are added? I ask because I have one from an explorer motor I built for a mustang. Plus have a set of GT40p heads. Was thinking about putting on the 302, until I get around to the 351 swap. The 351 swap will be a while since my 302 has fairly low miles for the age..
Any one have specs on the explorer cams??
And is my 94 roller ready?
This doesn't have any idea with your main question, but if I'm not mistaken the GT40P heads have a different exhaust port setup - not 100% on this just thought it might be useful information. Someone will chime in and tell me if I'm wrong I'm sure.
The ports themselves are the same, but the GT40P's have a revised spark plug angle which can interfere with a normal header.
The 94 should have a roller cam already, and it may even be the same as the explorer (if not the same, it's very similar from what I understand). You might want to ask this down in the small block forum. I'm sure someone there will know.

you are correct, the 94 is a roller and does use the same cam as the explorer 5.0 , BUT the intake and heads are worth the swap the response is huge .
Guess if I add the P heads, will add 1.7 rocker instead..
Any major mods to add teh explorer intake? Guess I am refering to the throttle cable mainly. Not worried about vacumn lines and stuff.. Those are a simple fix.
