I Am New To Diesels Just Got An 96 F-450 7.3 Psd And Was Looking Over The Engine Tonight And Saw Down In The Valley Under The Turbo There Was Some Damp Areas Looks To Be Comming From The Rubber Boots Not To Bad Though Is This Normal For A Diesel??
Hi and welcome to the Ohio chapter, I think the best place to get your answer to your question would be to check out the diesel section of the site.they have a ton of info there.
Some seepage is okay, but likely it's the oring for the turbo. It's the feed for the bearings in the turbo, and common to either leak or blow out completely.
If it's around the air tubing, then again pretty common, though not affecting anything.
My 2000 PSD leaked just months after I got it. It left spots on the drive for 2 yrs(til I sold it). They are messy no matter what.
