305/75/16 BFG's??

I went to my local Off Road outfitter today to look at some tires for my 1995 F350 4x4. I told the guy I didnt want to lift the truck, but wanted to get the biggest tires my stock set up would allow for. We were able to get a 305/75/16 to get in there so I think it looks great. What do you guys think of the BFG All Terrain? The only problem tho is said he doesnt think they make it in a E rated tire, which i need/want because when i Tow or have a payload I am going to want that strength in the sidewall like I have now on my Pirelli Scorpions. Do they make a 305 with an E rated side wall?

I just had the same problem but wasnt a fan of the 305's, they just filled the wheel well up with tire and it was too much. I couldn't get in an E rating either. I instead went with the 285 BFG's and it still looks good...plus I have the sidewall support for towing my 5er. If you do find a 305 E let us know.

BTW - My truck is an 04 F350 4wd PSD

Okay will do. Ya I think what you did is cool. I will do that too if i cant get an E rated sidewall. One question man, do you know if the middle number can flucuate? Like the 75? Or is that something to do with the rim size and not the tires width or something?

I don't know if I'm sold on the whole 285s. I mean you say you run 265's right now, correct? I think if you are going to spend the money to upgrade, then I think you should at least go two sizes up, otherwise you may be disappointed after you spend all that money with 285's. Just something to think about...

Very valid point and thats what i was thinking too. I mean the tires I am running right now only have 20,000 miles on them, and are prob still beter than half life left, so I am being premature about getting new tires, and the least i ddint want happening was regreatting anotehr $800 worth of tires. Great point, i really do want the 305 or 33 inch tire, just really want it to be a stong tire

I'd have to say the tires you run now are about the only modest thing you run on that truck. She's very sharp. Shes going to go up a few points in the badass department once those bigger tires are put on!

Thanks Off Road Teacher, means alot. Thats the intention is to give it that extra bad *** look without taking to much of its workability away with the bigger tire

What exactly have you done to that truck to make it look like that? That sure as heck don't look a 12 year old truck! My buddy has a 94 F-250, same style as yours, and my god it's hideous. You did a good job with yours, I think a nice set of rollbars in the bed and maybe some KC lights would look so ill! Let us know what happens with the tires buddy!

I have just gone right thru it, you name its prob has been addressed. I picked this thing out of a junk yard, it was a total rust bucket, and then i restored it. I got it painted, replaced all the lights, and bulbs, rims, tires, parts, the engine, replaced some interior parts, and sandblasted and painted under the truck. Changed all the oils, and just keep total maintenance on her. Man I love this thing. I like to keep it real sleek, and make it sort of like a one ton that is street, but can still be used as work truck. I will keep you updated guys with the tires

the 305D has 2900lbs capacity, and the smaller 285E has 3750.

and yes the mddle number matters. it will change the height and width aprox a have ince for every 5.

i think 800 lbs, isnt going to change too much, as almost 3k per tire is still ALOT.

Thanks off road teacher really appreciate your kind comments. ynevada, thank u for research. Those tires are really nice, I just wish they were E, there D rating isn’t bad, but I like psychologically knowing my tires were E rated, even if the D's did fine. Which size tire were u thinking in that link u gave me? I didn’t see any 305/75/16's, or am I looking at it wrong?

It looks like i am just going to live with the 265's until there ready to get replaced, prob 25,000 miles from now or so, but i think there rated even longer than that, but by that time i will feel better about spending money on a new tire. I think i will just go with a 285 instead, that way I keep my E Rate, and i still can get the pirelli scorpion ATR, which i Love, and it wont be too big, but it also wont be considered small either, it be like a 33 inch tire just not as wide, which will make it better all around for snow travel and mud ect...

I hope I don't come off wrong with some of the guys here on the forum, but I just have to be completely honest hah! I am new to the forum and I checked out a lot of your pix and videos of your truck, and oh my god! Hands down, you have the best looking F-350 I've seen in that style. It is soo sexy. I just love its got the big badass 460 big block in her too! That truck is truly one of a kind, you've just really gone and done her up in every which way. When she gets those bigger tires on her, it's going to look like a mean clean black monster truck! 285's or 305's are going to look incredible. Hopefully you can find an E rated 305 though because that will really make it look like a intimidating monster truck! Goodwork on it, that thing looks like it just came off the damn lot, you really knew what you were doing FordF350baby. Your truck should be a model for everyone on this forum. Big, mean, clean, LOUD, shiny, and BLACK! AWESOME!!!!!!
