a 300ci efi block(1990) and a 300ci carb block (1980)? What about the heads? I have a 1990 truck and the engine is bad, I have a line on a 1980 truck with the same engine with 88k miles(original) that runs well, can I swap the blocks, (and) heads?
The 1980 block will have the hole from the mechanical fuel pump which you won't need with EFI, but I think you can cover this somehow. The 80's carbed 300's didn't have holes in the head for air injection, EFI'd ones did.
So, from what you're saying, I could use the block from the 80 and the head from the 90 should bolt on? This way I could have the holes for air injection in the head and just get a cover plate for the fuel pump hole? COOL
I hope it is right.
