anyone know
i got a question, will headlight bezels from a 51/52 truck or 51/52 car fit my 53 and give it that frenched look? I know that 57 fairlane and rancheros will but im having a hell of a time finding any. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

The 52/54 Ford and Merc original headlamp doors have a much deeper headlamp recess than 1957 does. The 52/54 styles are actually two pieces with the outer portion painted body color, inside there's a chrome ring. The '57's are "Plain Jane" (all painted). I've owned many 1957 Fords, but never liked the bug-eyed headlamp styling, which to me, looked like they were goosed.

This was discussed about 6 mths ago or more. 51 Ford work - one of our members with a pale blue slant cab shows them in his gallery.
I am using 51 Meteor bezels on my 54 headlight buckets (to acheive the same effect), but I don't have any pics of them in my grille gallery.
I have the email address (at home) for a guy in the Midwest that had a set of 51 Ford bezels that he wanted $100.00 for the pair. I have no experience with the guy but he runs a wrecking yard devoted to old vehicles and I beleive him to be on the up and up.
FYI - if/when you find a set of bezels, they'll likely be chromed and pitted. The red "nylock" stripping disc in your grinder/drill will strip off the chrome and leave a beautiful smooth surface for rechroming or painting.
