Fan Blower Controller
Been fighting this one for a couple weeks. 2006 F250 PSD FX4 with Auto Temp Control 38k miles so out of warranty.
Ford dealer replaced AC head unit under warranty for the blank display problem a couple months ago.
Now blower started the sticking on high even with head unit turned off.
Took it to dealer after about a week. They said it was the fan controller that costs $90 plus labor but did not have one in stock. After complete failure for a week when I started the truck to leave it started working!?
Now a week later it failed again. It is under hood kind of behind the condenser so one of the mounting screws is a pain to get out.
I read on here there is a bad diode so I took it apart and replaced the only diode on this really simple circuit board. Still did not correct.
Any ideas?
After taking the olde one apart and replacing the diode the fan now only blows on high. At least I could turn it off
I stopped by another dealer on the way home from work and he did not have the exact part# but cross referenced it to another one and came up with the identical part. This one was only $52. Man almost half the price as from another dealer.
Anyway, this worked. I believe it was the power transformer (Darlington) that was bad on the old one. I may buy one and replace it to see if it works.
