I suppose you are referencing my signature.

Staying true to your line of thinking. They had their swing at due process the first time a round. As a repeat offender they made an unwise decision, or investment as it were, in their future. To quote you, "not very good decision making, wouldn't you say?" or "the result of the choices they've made."

But, that discussion is likely best suited the other thread.

It was, yes, a jest. Wow... I've got to get back to work. Staying in this discusion is not a wise investment in my future.

It applies to gas prices as well. Do I whine about it or seek the opportunies it may bring?
Well we're getting farther and farther from the thread topic - but when did that ever stop us before!

As I said earlier - fixed? Limited? Whatever you want to call it. My point was that people with a "fixed income" really do exist, and it's a condition that's totally orthogonal to "low income". It can be a problem when costs rise and your income doesn't. That's how retirees loses their homes, for instance...

BTW, poor old mom can't reallocate her investments if she doesn't have any! She has a good income, but it is all truly from "fixed" sources.

Actually, Fixed Income is likely a pretty good phrase. Just as Nitramjr was "Fixed"...he can produce, no more. So it is to "Fixed" Income.

But so far, oil contracts on the futures markets have taken on the momentum of a runaway tanker car. On Wednesday, trading was brisk in contracts for delivery in coming months at prices well above the $100 mark. The benchmark near-month contract topped $98 a barrel before settling at $96.37 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

“I'm not in the camp that we're going to $100 and stop,” said John Kilduff, an energy analyst with MF Global. “I think we’re going to keep going. There's no reason for it not to keep going.”

Right, that wouldn't be fixed income, that would be fixed out... No, no way I'm going there...

There are people in the US and Canada that had all their ducks in a row then out of the blue became victims of Corporation Execs and the Federal Government.

Enron
Nextel
Newly Taxed Trust Funds.

These people lost a major percentage of their life savings.

and it wasn't their fault.

Only so many people can be near the top of the financial food chain....

Aside from telling them to get a better education and ATTEMPING and Hopefully be retained to get a higher income ..what do you tell people in the service industry ...housekeepers,fast food people, pump jockey's,janitors..etc etc ?

Not everyone can buy stock and be master financial wizards.

It sounds great in theory but it isn't reality

Should these people expect a $75,000 /year income ?

How do they make investments when they only make $15,000 /yr and has to go to feed/clothe/house them and their families.

There are people in N/A who live day to day... month to month... from no fault of their own.
What about them ..as the number of this group is growing everyday

Ken not only did you gain most of your stuff on your own but you also had people HELP YOU gain your financial position... without any form of payment to them.
