Overusing Power Service?

Every time I fill up I add Power service to the tank using the .64 multiplier which gives me the richer mix. Is every tank to much? Should I lean it out or am I just fine? Just curious any input would be great.

I dumped half a bottle that treats 300 gals into the tank....no problem and the bad fuel I think I received ran great.

If the ".64 multiplier" means you put 16 ounces in a 25 gallon tank, you're OK although it might be overkill. I use half that myself.

I have noticed a difference in the way the truck runs when using the Power Service.
My truck is a Job 2 '06 that just LOVES straight ULSD.

Funny I happened upon this post. This morning I was filling up my truck. $3.25 a gal, went up from last night here in Colorado. I usually use a funnel to put the PS in, decided to skip that step, Accidently put half the new bottle in the tank. I will just keep filling the tank up to thin it out. Haven't noticed a really difference, Still getting used to not having the EGR unplugged.

I run 8 oz. in every tank. I don't know for sure what size my tank is, but when the guage reads empty it takes 25.5 to 26.5 gal to fill it up, so I would assume it is probably a 28 or 29 gallon. Anyway, the truck seems to get around 1 mpg better with just powerservice silver bottle in the tank. Starting to get cold here though I will probably start dumping 911 in the next tank.

I wouldn't use 911 unless you have to. Use the white bottle of powerservice for the winter. The white bottle I use 1/2 the bottle ( small bottle ) in each tank in my semi ( twin 120 gal tanks ) and I have never had any trouble and it still boosts the cetane unlike the 911.

Didn't someone do an analysis of different treatments recently? I think he said that treating over double the listed amount was just a waste of Kleen, didn't get you anything. I put half the bottle in on long runs when I'm gonna run the tank down all, and less in town.

16 ounces in 25 gallons isn't over double the listed amount. It's exactly double.

i believe 911 has alcahol in it which isn't good for the 6.0, I always use the white bottle here in n.h and have never had a problem!

See I keep getting lost here in these talks about the dosage of DK. On my bottles, 32oz or 96oz the label says treats 50 - 100 gals. So double the dose would be 32ozs a tank on the short bed. !6oz would be the dosage of 50 gals.

I use about 1/3 of the small bottle, unless when I was double- dosing to try and clean up some stiction. I also rarely run the tank below 1/4 full, so I think I'll be OK with that. Just my .02

Anybody know if there are any side effects from using too much DK in one tank full? As in either on purpose or like i did this morning and just didnt realize how much I dumped in until it was too late? I mean I know that DK acts as a lubricant for the fuel system, but too much lubricant a bad situation?
Forgive me for sounding ignorant. Some things I just haven't mastered yet, thats what makes FTE such a great place.

I put a whole 32oz bottle in my last tank and I didn't see any difference.

I started this thread awhile ago. Interesting reading about fuel supplements. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ight=lubricity
