Gauges wacky after boosting!

Hi,I'm Al and I'm an alcoholic,oh,sorrrry, wrong forum.Hi,I boosted my 97 150xlt and when I was done my gauges were and still are scwrewed.when I first start it they are ok for a while and then "zoom" right to the end as high as they(the gauges) can go.It has not affected the truck at all except I won't be able to tell if it is over heating or if the battery is charging or if the oil pressure is up or down but like I said the truck is not affected as I have went to visit country relatives on many occasions(a 400 mile trek in itself)and it is still running smoothly.I have tried numerous remedies but have not been able to pinpoint the problem.Any help and any sensible suggestions will be appreciated.Thank you very much.Peace!!!

Welcome to the forum.

Usually that is a sign of low voltage. I would have the alternator checked for proper voltage.
