Monsta!! You can't talk like that - this is a Family Channel ! Cities in Minnesota have recycle centers where you can drop off your coolant and oil for disposal. Besides, the old ethelene glycol is poisonous and evidently sweet, as it does a real number on pet dogs/cats and the occasional baby.....
Now the new biodegradable gold stuff is a little safer.
Oh yeah, I forgot...after I drain the coolant I get a basket full of puppies and place them next to the hole to clean up any that doesn't soak in fast enough.
I thought you were serious as we all know that Hawaii has molten lava a few feet down and this would burn up all your coolant and used oil. Here on beautiful Vancouver Island dumping coolant is more serious than robbing a bank. I like your sense of humour.
Keep up the great posts.
Can anyone give me some pointers on changing coolant in my 2000 f-350 v10, also it apears my temp sensor has gone.. 160.k on her..
Drain both the radiator and reservoir bottle. Next you can purchase a pre-mix of 50/50 coolant with distilled water and fill-up the radiator first. Then fill the reservoir bottle 3/4 and with both radiator and reservoir caps on loosely...start the engine and turn the heater to defrost. This will allow the coolant to start flowing the entire system and get any air bubbles out. Once you get the V10 up to normal temp...shut down and check coolant level. Top off as necessary. Tighten the caps...and off you go.
OBTW: With a 2000 V10...you get the GREEN coolant. Stay away from the "Orange" and "Gold" (yellowish color).
It's also acceptable to dispose of the old coolant by dumping it into the sanitary sewer via a commode, sink (if the wife's not watching), or an outside cleanout.
If you pull the block plug that's on the side of the engine near the rear on the driver's side you can get another gallon or so out. Seal it with teflon tape when you put it back in.
