thinking about rockies...

quad or anyone else running or have experience with rockies... what is the measurement b/t axleshaft centerline and the very tip top of the top loader section? trying to figure out the LOWEST lift, yes the LOWEST lift i could get by with and run a set of steer axles

i just dont know what to say....

ill get you the measurement tonight...it is a pretty big #....lots of people on pirate have troubles putting those bigass axles on rigs trying to still make them "rockcrawlers"

just curious, why are you thinking rockwells?
have you had a prob. with the chromod 60?

or are you going into the 44"+ range?

lets just say its not for the bronco but a much more mild project.

if it ends up being some insane number i will be forced to look in other venues!

they were destined to be under a cj. but i think that project has been wrote off.

but yeh, theyve got a big center section. not nice to the oil pan

wow! almost 11", 12" would be extreme minimal to keep from bashing anything underneath! whew, that might just be a lil too much for me!

i have to have 2 steer axles... the reason for 2 is for rear-steer!

cutts, you just made quad's day!

Do we get any insight to the "mild" project w/ front and rear steer?

Sorry no #'s, but I'm sure quad or someone will have them soon.

freejay, do you mean he's building something new?
Or are you talking about the 49 F1 ?
Unfortunately, I saw he put it on its side a few weeks ago...... ouch

You are looking at a good 11 inches or so to the top of the 3rd member and to be safe and even more if you use a pinion brake. You still need some room for suspension travel too. That is the big issue people have with rockwells. The way around it usually is moving the axles out and keeping the engine and fuel tanks closer to the center.
