Travis; Does this so-called "Steam" come out in a steady stream as soon as you start it up or within a minute?? What color.
Sounds to me as if you have a PRE-PCV engine with a road tube set up and the road tube is blocked, letting the blowby gases blow out the cap. Blow by gases, depending on how much oil vapor is in them can be anywhere from clear to medium gray in color. Once you start getting a lot of gray then you need to start looking at a ring job in the near future. Make sure the road tube is clear.
