How to flush tranny?

I'm getting ready to go home and pick up my truck. A 1993 F-250 4X4 single cab w/ 5.8L. I want to flush the tranny and do a tune-up before i drive it back down here to FL. How do i completely get all the fluid out of the tranny before filling it up?
Thanks for any help guys.

Would help to know which trans you have. Either way I would not recommend FLUSHING the trans but rather draining and replacing the fluid and filter. Flushing can dislodge junk in the valve bodies on these older transmissions and cause big problems down the road (I've seen guys with perfect trannies going bad 5k miles after a flush). Draining the torque converter and pan will get all but about 2-4 quarts at the most, and the other couple quarts are not worth the risk (they're mostly in the cooler lines, which you can blown out with pressurized air if you like).

Assuming you have an E4OD (I'm not sure about the AOD(E) transmissions, they might be the same) pull the rubber grommet from the bellhousing. Throw a socket on the crank pulley and rotate it slowly until you can see the torque converter drain plug through the bellhousing inspection hole. Drain the torque converter and replace the plug. Drop 1 corner of the pan to drain the fluid down to the top of the pan, then drop the whole thing while balancing to make sure little fluid spills (huge mess). Replace the filter and inspect the gasket, most are reusable depending on condition. Replace pan and refill through dipstick tube in engine compartment 3-4 quarts at a time, while starting the truck and running through all gears between each partial fill. Do this until around 10-12 quarts then start keeping an eye on the level with the dipstick to MAKE SURE you don't overfill.

That's the abridged version, here's a full writeup that basically says the same stuff:
