Anyone remove their backpressure valve? I am installing tymar exhaust system and Dale gave me his instruction sheet for removing the valve from the housing for less restriction and more boost. He said I should gain about 1 lb of boost. I figure it can't hurt. Just a little more time under the hood. I am in the middle of the project and will hopefully finish the whole system tonight.
Has anyone done this and noticed anything? We did the exhaust on my uncles truck and I am wondering if it would be worth it to take back apart to do the mod. I don't think I will be able to tell on mine since I am changing out the downpipe at the same time.
i'm not doing mine for one reason ... the DIY exhaust brake. it turns your ebpv into an exhaust brake. you can do the mod for about $20-25, getting all the parts at radioshack. i need to get all the braking i can in order to save my brakes and slow the beast down. these old trucks dont slow down too quickly!
