engine noise
I replaced the engine in my 86 f-150 the original 351w had a blown head gasket so I bought a reman 351w with some performance up grades. Now when I'm on the highway doing between 45 and 65 i can hear a tapping noise coming from the top of the engine when i ease on the gas the more gas i the louder it gets then it goes away. I run it on premium fuel I only have about 300 miles on the motor do anyone know what could be the cause of this? And how can I fix it?

A tapping noise sounds like a lifter is not pumping up. This is usually caused by a little piece of dirt clogging the little oil passage going to the lifter.
It may go away, or you can try some oil treatment like Rislone to see if it will knock the clog out.

maybe you have an exhaust leak? Didyou install the old manifolds? If so, they almost always warp when you take them off, so its a good practice to replace them. If you are using headers, make sure they are seated properly.
