Engine is a 302. Edelbrock air gap manifold. Holley 650 double pumper, manual choke/secondaries. Installed head shield, rejetted (down), new gaskets, pump etc.
The issue is that the carb is leaking fuel out the booster tubes into the venturies when the engine is at operating temperature and shut off. This is creating a flooding problem. This only goes away when the floats are completly cranked down (?).
Any ideas out there what might be causing this? The floats are currently at the recommended setting.
Have you removed the needle and seats to see if there is any debris in them? Just a little piece will keep them from seating off properly. Idling, the fuel level should be just below the sight plug.
I have a Holley 650 Spreadbore on my wife's Dodge D250 360, 4sp. I had trouble a couple of times with flooding after I bought the carb new. I finally pulled both bowls and reset the floats down just a little, and checked the needle & seats reassembled and that seem to solve the problem. That was a year ago so since no trouble.
