engine trouble
hey i have a 90 f250 w/ a 351w. smoke pours out of left valve cover when your looking at it from the front, i was told the rings are shot and theres too much blow by and pressure in the crankcase, im going to do a compression check myself tonight or tomarow and if thats not the case then whats would it be, and if the rings are shot does anyone know where in the rochester area i could get it fixed for dirt cheap or some tips on doing it myself thanks.

I doubt rings if smoke comes out the valve cover. More like valve guides/seals. Do the comp. test dry, then squirt a little oil in the plug hole. If the comp. comes up, its rings. If not, valves.
Check that everything that should be connected for crancase ventilation & pvc is in place.
