I am trying to figure out about when to meet you all there. I've seen "noonish" for Placermike but not sure about anyone else. I have not met any of you all before so how do I recognize ya?
Sorry Hydro, We all left before you posted. I was out the door by 6:30 Jerry was out by 6:00 And Tom was out by 8. We were in the "mud Flats" where Tom left his mark on the way out. We had a good time. The store was Huge and a little much to navigate with the the group we had. Tom and I finished 2 bottles of CR and opened a Third. Mike had his bud Jerry had Fireball and Jim had one CR too. We stopped for chow in Auburn at IPUKE. The food was...... Food. The place was swarming with cops and The waiter thought I was skipping out and not paying the bill. We made a run to the CB shop to get my cb tuned and spent 1 1/2 hours there. I think it was good for everyone.. Never did get to the shish kebobs or any food for that matter. Sorry Guys but we ran out of time, kinda.
I made it there by 1:30 and left at 3:00. I didn't know where to look for you guys in the parking lot and then didn't know that there was an upper lot in the back 40. We may need to try again when the crowds arn't so bad. I had my son and grandson and they loved it. I also talked to one of the employees and we would have been better off to go on friday.
I'll post Sat. night adventure and Todays adventure tomorrow. I'll tell all this right now, Mike and Barb are two great people! I am here, just a whole lot tired. No beer, Crown or Jack for me today.
Here is how the G2G went. By the time I got out of bed at 7, Marty was already on the road. Jerry, rang the doorbell right at 7 and I poped outta bed. Friday was a good beer drinking night. We all finally met on HWY 167. Then drove down to the Supermall IHOP for Bfast. Marty tried to run without paying, but of course the waiter wasn't the smartest and did not realize 7 other people were still at the table. We then tried to do a quick tune of the CB's. Tried to do Marty's first, something was wrong and the meter Ref was to high like it was shorting out. After changing antenna's, we just decided to head to the CB shop in Fife. Two trucks tuned, My just needed a little adjust, Jerry a little adjust, Jim flipped a switch (high tech radio). Marty's radio, talk about going into surgery. Hour and half later, soaked through jacket, watching Marty stand on his truck adjusting and fixing, we were on the road to get some fuel. That was about 10 min. of diesel filling. Then, we were on the road towards Cabelas. We were flipping Marty so much BS, his truck looked like a unicorn. Then we decided it looked like a tella tubby with the ladder rack and antenna. We pulled into Cabelas at about who knows when. That place was so crowed, we parked in the mud pit right next to I-5. That was when the 1st bottle of Crown was opened. We got lucky and ran into Barb aka Flintergal inside the store. Cruised around some more then went back to the trailer and trucks. Opened the 2nd bottle of Crown, then Mike came a knocking. Later on, the 3rd was opened. After awhile we split out of there at about 4:30 or so. Since it was Tyler's Bday, we all headed back to my place except Marty. He was to good to visit. Then the G2G continued. Used the firepit until about 1am or so.
Sunday, Jerry, myself and Dave(Parrsboro) met up at the local coffee stand. Headed up towards Greenwater to find some dirt, mud and snow. We found 2 of 3. No mud, we made up for it. Found several puddles quite large. Dave decided to take his truck up one trail which got the best of him. Lost an antenna, actually broke a fire-stix and bent the mount. That was the only damage we had. Went back to myplace started the fire in the backyard for the pork shoulders and away we went again burning. Perfect timing made it home in time for the Seahawks game. Mike did watch some of the game. I wouldn't change the channel. He had to suffer. Mike and Barb cooked/made one hell of a meal. Just a smaller rendition of Turkey Day. I do have some pics, I'll try to get them up.
