Speed Gear Help!
I have a 78 f-250 with a C6 and 4:10 gears. I put some 33x12.50 tires on the truck shortly after i got it and i think my speedo gearing is off. Does anybody know what gear i need in the transfer or at the very least how to figure which one i need? Also, anybody know where to get one? Thanks!

You can still buy the gears (by color) at the stealership. They run about $3 each. Pull yours out, note the color and number of teeth. Either find a buddy with a vehicle that has a speedo you can trust, or get a GPS unit to give you your actual speed vs the speedo speed. Divide the two together, that will give you the percentage you are off. With all of that information, the dealer can get you the right gear.

60 mph = 1 mile a minute find some mile markers and a stop watch. By the way if your truck came with 9.50 x 16.5 tires they stand about 31.5 -32 inches tall if it came with 7.50 x 16 tires they stand dang near 33 inches tall so your speedo cant be off much with 12.50 x33's unless some body switched trannies on you. My 75 came with 7.50 x 16's and with 12.50 x 33 x 16.5 its right on the mark!
