If it creaks as you brake, apply different levels of brake to see if you get the front end to "bounce". If it creaks accordingly than you most likey need to lube you leaf spring bushings. My 03' does it alot. I spray PB Blaster on them and they stay quiet for a month or so.
I just replaced all 4 ball joints, and all the "creeking" went away with them.
I thought it was the spring bushings too, Creek was only happening once and a while. But since ball joint replacement. All is quiet up front for now......oh! umm..... forgot about the "clunk"......
That's the stablizer arm from the frame to the bar.... passenger side.

boxcar1974.... What is PB blaster.... never heard of that.
Mine does it on the drive side, only when it is cold. After about a half hour of driving; I guess what ever is causing the noise, warms up and stops creeking. I have greased all of the zurk fittings and sprayed WD40 on every thing, but it has not stopped.
Yeah, that is what I originally thought, but I bought all new Bilstein shocks and it didn't help a thing. If you have the factory original shocks upgrade them anyways. You will get a much better ride. I doubt you will be dissappointed.

I was thinking that maybe the shock is going bad.
Funny you say that because I was trying to recreate the trouble yesterday in a empty parking lot and there was no noise at all. When it is acting up it is pretty loud.
Mine had the same thing at 36,000 miles...accompanied by a clunking at times...had upper and lower ball joints replaced with lifetime-warranty ball joints from Napa at a local shop for about $500 clams including labour... Been great ever since and am about to turn 95,000 miles...
