SDT Tune's w/ optional user settings...

So after nagging Matt for what seems like an an eternity I finally got a new ASE file that allows you to define certain settings. What's everyone using for these?

I know my tire Revs per mile is 603 and my axle ratio is 3.73 but I'm not sure what values to use for the rest. If I don't put anything in does it use what Matt has decided is best?

You can adjust the parameters a small amount. Matt has to know what configuration your vehicle is when he writes the file although there are program defaults built in to the base files if he happens to miss a little something here or there. The parameters allow you to tweak for your individual vehicle so that if you change something on your truck (wheel size, rear end ratio, etc.) you can adjust it without having to have a whole new program written. Load the file and run it as is before you make any changes or adjust the parameters to what you know you have before adjusting shift points, tranny firmness, etc.

ok but what if ur parameters arn't changing when u save them? it shows up on the screen as it has been changed and when i load a different tune it still shows the changed parameters, but the speedomeer never changed and now my truck won't shift until redline so im thinking when i messed with the WOT shift point it stuck and now won't change back.

Well i cranked the shift pressure up all the way to get firmer shifts and hopefully less slippage. And if u don't change anything then it stays as whatever the program originaly was, either what matt specifically tuned it for or the standard setting if he didn't mess with that parameter.

The reason I ask is Matt said the old ASE tune was good for tire sizes up to 36" so it made me think that it was just a generic setting and not specific.

The revs per mile doesnt change your spedometer, I believe it is for the tranny shift points. But then again I'm just guessing.

Changing the tire size etc in the SCT has No effect on the speedometer, odometer or miles to empty. The SCT is not capable of correcting the VSS sent to the instrument cluster. The adjustable parameters in the SCT are only there to fine tune the SCT shift strategy for your truck if there is a need to fine tune Matts work.

Are you saying your truck now only shifts at 4100 RPM?

Riggs, the new tune is self-adaptive up to the same points as the ratings I previously gave you. You can preset them in the device to prevent the PCM from having to relearn; but the end result will be the same up to that size. Anything larger than that size will require recalibration either by me or with the device.

oh, didn't know that about the speedo. And yes, unless i change the redline down, like i have it set to 3850 right now, it will only shift once it hits redline/4150rpms.
