My stupid in-dash 6 CD changer is messed up, while trying to load a disc a few days ago, it was moving to the correct slot and just stopped, the door is stuck open and it wont move to any of the other locations or play either of the discs that are currently in the player, it just says CD error. Anyone have any ideas on what might be going on here? Im pulling the fuse to the radio and leaving it out for 30 mins hoping this resets the whole thing. Any advice would be appreciated
try tp change it to what ever disc was ejecting when the problem occured and look in the slot to see if the disc is jammed. i had a similar problem with mine took a couple of hours of messing with it untill i finnally seen the disc that was jammed and pulled it out with a needle nose. i ejected all discs and reloaded them after that evrythings been fine for a couple of months now
There isnt a disc in that slot that it hung up on, it was still in the process of moving to that position when it stopped. Luckily the radio and the dvd player still work.
Is there an aftermarket stereo that will still control the dvd player, and the steering wheel controls?
Go figure, i guess it took a week, but it seems to have fixed itself. I went to work this morning, and noticed that the little door thing was back down, so i ejected the discs that were in there, and it seems fine. I really do hate those changers they put in, this is the second or third vehicle ive had with them, and they were all a pain in the butt.
