Mike you should know me well enough by now to know that I wouldn't call you wrong brother. What you're saying seems logical I suppose, but nobody has ever told me that dropping her in neutral while driving was harmful, I always assumed it was like pushing in the clutch on a manual transmission... I don't do it all that often, only for diagnostic purposes, never in an attempt to save on gas or something, thats rediculous. I guess I won't do it anymore...
Back on topic, what is this noise/vibration I'm getting. It doesn't make the noise if the truck is not MOVING. Any ideas? I'm gonna go out in a few minutes and check over my truck in the daylight.
Mike, it sounds your you yelling. STOP, and have a beer. Check back later after you thought about what your saying. Chris did you put it back in gear at 5 Grand? That would not be good.

Agreed. And no, I didn't. I turned off the cruise control, she dropped down to idle, and then I threw it back in drive and kept driving.
Had a dream last night that I was driving my truck and it was having trouble shifting through all the gears and then basically stopped shifting all together. Lets hope it wasn't some sort of vision into the future
Whelp... I'm pretty sure I found the problem, lol. Get ready to laugh. Some HOOLIGAN at school thought it would be funny to lock my hubs for me Just glad he was kind enough to lock them BOTH instead of just one
I haven't gotten a chance to test drive it because the closest freeway is 20 minutes away but I'm almost sure that the noise I was hearing was the chain drive inside the transfer case, and the vibration can probably be attributed to one of the rotating parts in the front drivetrain. UGHHH!!! So much stress over nothing! (hopefully)
Sooooo, that aluminum pipe behind your truck was driveshaft related. HA , YOU AND MIKE OWE ME 1.00. Tranfercase, yea right. Dad wad i talkin about Djman i no nuutin about wud yu jus sa. 351 C frum eest cost. Im dragwacin tonighyt.
Wow slug that post was like 75% gibberish. Not what you meant in that last sentence, but the sound was NOT driveshaft related. I do believe it was the chain drive inside the transfer case.
How many u joints in a TTB 4x4 front end? All that dont spin good at 60 mph. UNLOCK YOUR HUBS , TAKE YOUR FRONT DRIVE SHAFT OUT, AND DRIVE IN 4 HI. Tell me if vibrates.
