More Brake Issues
After replacing the other caliper, installing yet another Master Cylinder (new NAPA MC for GAS engine (it has a bigger bore)) I decided to check the rear brake adjustment. The left rear was out of adjustment when I had just adjusted it two days ago. I took it apart and it turned out that the adjuster "puck" had fallen off, but the adjuster was still hitting both shoes but not correctly on one of them. The "puck" was in the bottom of the drum, undamaged. I cleaned and lubed the adjuster, reassembled, and re-adjusted, and the brakes are better than I can ever remember. All along, I think the problem was that the one wheel cylinder had to go to maximum travel which required continuous pedal travel.
Yet another time when I should have simply checked the simple stuff...first instead of last. Thanks again.
