'94 Aero 3.0 shorty with raised top
A year or so ago I posted a question about the practicality of using an Aero as a camper, and wondered if there had been any conversions for camping. I did hear about an outfit in the NW that did this but it is now out of business.
I've now got a lead on one with a raised fiberglass top. It was evidently converted for use by a person with a wheelchair, because of interior changes that were made. At first when I checked the VIN online it came back saying the VIN was wrong, but I knew it was right. There is no paperwork about the conversion, and no name or logo on the top. Later I checked the VIN in Chilton and this showed it was manufactured "incomplete".
I'm wondering if this means the top, etc. were installed by an outfit that took the van straight from the factory.
I can transfer the camper interior from a Class B camper I have access to that is headed for the JY. If it works it should be an economical way to camp, though the raised top will cut gas mileage.

Raised-top Aero
I don't have a picture, but this one is a streamlined top that goes up about 18" above the level of the regular roof to provide stand-up headroom, like most Class B van camper conversions . In front it follows the angle of the windshield. However it does not extend back to the end of the body. The raised part drops down to the original roof just back of the second row of seats.
Apparently someone modified it after the first owner--the rear seat is now in the position of the second seat, so it seats 3 across there.
